About the Role

This role is focused on the engagement, assessment and provision of evidence based interventions for young people accessing headspace services. This includes psycho-social assessment and the provision of short term interventions and support including group work and outreach support to community and school based settings.

The key objectives of this role are:

  • To engage, assess and provide support to young people and their friends and family.
  • To discuss and initiate client referrals to appropriate supports
  • To participate in supporting a timely, responsive and efficient intake and assessment process.

Ongoing, part-time role (30.4 hours per week)

$79,000 pa (pro-rata) + super + salary packaging

About You

To be successful in this role you will have

  • Tertiary qualification in Youth Work, Social Work or other health related discipline.
  • Demonstrated experience working with young people.
  • Demonstrated skills related to client and family engagement, assessment and provision of brief intervention support.
  • Experience in networking and referring clients in a supported process to external services.
  • Current Victorian Drivers Licence
  • Understanding of the principles of psychosocial rehabilitation and evidence based interventions for high prevalence mental health issues including relevant AOD or Dual Diagnosis/Dual Disability experience.
  • Understanding of the purpose and expectations of the Victorian Child Safe Standards and demonstrated commitment to contributing to a child safe organisation in both practice and culture.
