Every night in the Geelong region there are many children who don’t have a safe and loving home. BCYF provides Foster Care services for these children in need.

We urgently need more Carers who can provide a safe, stable and nurturing home environment for a child or young person who cannot live at home with their parents or extended family.

Children and young people requiring foster care can be of any age (up to 18 years), and can come from various cultural, religious, and socio-economic backgrounds.

Foster Carers can provide:

  • Overnight or emergency care
  • Respite to parents or other Foster Carers one weekend a month or once a fortnight
  • Short term care (up to 6 months)
  • Long term care (more than 6 months)

Individuals, couples and families from all backgrounds, with or without children, who are working or not working can become Foster Carers.
